Indeed, recent developments in the mobile financial services space are revolutionizing access to finance. But this expanded access should also come with the benefits traditionally attached to financial services: mobile phones should enable broader access to loans for people who need funds or working capital but above all, they should democratize interest bearing accounts. This will only happen if the MNOs and Financial Institutions work hand in hand.
